New options have been evolved to Facebook and Instagram stories with additional functionality. Facebook Stories has added new sticker options not only to enable weather and location but also to tag friends using the ‘Name’ sticker. The same applies to Instagram stories. Some accounts have seen Stories-like polls for Facebook Stories which might be in beta testing for now.
Facebook stories seem more behind Instagram ones for most of the users as they saw the stories bar above the news feed as blank in most times. This could be considered as an opportunity for marketers in a prime section of the app with less competition.
A lot more to be expected regarding Facebook stories in the future as Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg has said that he “foresees Stories taking over the News Feed as the primary social sharing option in the future.”

As for Instagram, the mentions using sticker will now notify the mentioned user. This will increase stories engagements and exposure
Instagram also announced a new process that will automatically transfer ads in square or landscape format into a full-screen presentation for Stories as well. Instagram explained as follows: “When a business uploads a single photo or a video under 15 seconds within Instagram Feed aspect ratios, Instagram will automatically provide full-screen support for this content on Instagram Stories. Whether exclusively or across multiple placements, advertisers can seamlessly reach people across Instagram and Facebook.”
The pixel matching technology will automatically select a background gradient to turn the ad into a full-screen format. The text from the Instagram Feed or Facebook Feed unit will be added in stories text font below the photo or video. If the ad creative is taller than square, caption text will not show at this time. The destination link will be added as a ‘Swipe up’ option.
